Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar Fasciitis is a common condition characterized by pain in the bottom of the foot while walking. This pain is caused by inflammation in the involved tissues and is sometimes referred to as heel spurs or bone spurs in the foot.

Assessment

A woman came to see me with plantar fasciitis, which also coincided with a shoulder issue. Upon evaluation, it was determined that the pain in her feet was partially linked to tension in the ligaments from the lower portion of her spine, which was referring pain to the bottom of her feet.

Treatment

For this client, I focused on releasing the tension in the ligaments connected to her spine. This approach resolved her plantar fasciitis pain in just one session. Additionally, she returned for a subsequent session, during which her shoulder pain was successfully addressed.

Other cases of plantar fasciitis may require the release of restrictions in nerves, veins, or arteries that contribute to foot pain. Regardless of the specific cause, addressing and releasing all the restrictions contributing to plantar fasciitis can significantly improve function and reduce pain.

Results

How Treatment Helps with Plantar Fasciitis:

  • Inflammation Reduction: The treatment targets and reduces inflammation in the tissues of the foot, which is the primary source of pain in plantar fasciitis.
  • Spinal Influence: When pain is present in both feet, it often originates, at least in part, from the spine. By addressing spinal issues, relief from foot pain can be achieved.
  • Holistic Approach: This method treats plantar fasciitis by considering all contributing factors, including potential nerve, vascular, or spinal sources, ensuring comprehensive pain relief and improved mobility.

If you or someone you know is struggling with plantar fasciitis, consider exploring treatment options that address the root causes for lasting relief.
